FALLEN WATER

FALLEN WATER

"Fallen water"

2012

15×20×90 (cm) / marble stone

I tried to translate the dead branch on the road to the scene of fallen water using marble stone “The Western material” as a symbol of eternity. I used the idea of “MITATE” which the Middle Ages “Muromachi Period 1392 to 1573” Japanese philosophy. The idea was used for the traditional Japanese garden “KARESANSUI”.

“KARESANSUI” is a style of garden that depicts landscapes using only rocks and sand. Without actually using water, it expresses wide oceans and the beautiful flow of water.
